Derbyshire bespoke pre-cast concrete firm, Evans, has announced a number of exciting company developments due to recent success and growth.

The securing of several large contracts and the evolution of the company into a full service design, manufacture and installation provider, has led to the appointment of a new managing director and an over-haul of its corporate identity.

Current commercial director, Chris Foster, will become MD from October 2007, taking the reigns from Garry McBride who will step back from the day to day running of the business and become company chairman.

Garry McBride said: “We’re undergoing some key changes but this is very much an evolution of the business as opposed to a revolution.  I’m delighted to hand over the reigns of MD to Chris Foster, he’s given a lot to the company over the five years he has been with us and has a clear vision for the future.”

Although Garry will be taking a back seat in the day to day aspects of the business, he will still play a part as the face of Evans, regularly meeting both new and current clients.

Chris Foster said: “We feel that our ability to service our customers’ needs has evolved as we now offer a full design, manufacture and installation service, so we’re naturally taking the business forward and I’m delighted to be playing a major part.”

As part of Evans’ growth the decision was made to invest in refreshing the corporate identity to reflect the vibrancy and continued expansion of the company. A new logo has been designed to give a bolder statement on what Evans can now offer and a total revamp of the website is also planned.

The company developments come as Evans begin work on their biggest ever contract, a £900,000 project at the New Shires shopping centre in Leicester. The firm has also been awarded contracts worth over £1million for work on the M1 widening programme and two projects on the North West coast, including the new multi-million pound Floral Hall development in Southport.

The on-going funding support for Evans’ expansion and growth aspirations is being provided by the company’s bankers The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).

Philippa Smith, commercial banking manager at RBS, has worked with Evans for a number of years.  She said: “The securing of a number of large contracts is testimony to what the team at Evans can achieve and we’re pleased to be supporting them.  The new corporate identity will help with the ongoing development of the company and they’re now looking forward to the future with confidence.”
